We are thrilled to officially launch our all-new simulation training tool, Troubleshooting Industrial Sensors (TIS)! Our latest and greatest troubleshooting module features all new graphics built on a 3D platform.
This fully-immersive instructional simulation is designed to teach electrical, manufacturing and maintenance professionals about advanced automation devices. Designed to help equip workers with the skills needed in an increasingly digitally-connected manufacturing environment, the TIS module provides an important tool to close the skills gap and develop the next-generation of manufacturers.
With over 2.4 million manufacturing jobs going unfilled according to a recent Deloitte study, Simutech Multimedia’s new platform equips manufacturers with the tools and data needed to identify, assess, onboard and train the next generation of skilled labor. The new platform is designed to help bridge the skills gap related to automation, PLCs, sensors and industrial controls.
“This fully-immersive setting allows users to reap the benefits of better retention rates attained by simulation training as well as learn in a realistically-replicated environment they are accustomed to,” says Warren Rhude, CPO of Simutech Multimedia. “The new instructional simulation teaches professionals how to configure and troubleshoot industrial PLC analog inputs, PLCs and associated devices growing more prevalent in the modern production plant.”
Enabled by the 3D training platform, users will be able to explore a typical industrial environment and learn how to anticipate results occurring from changing temperatures, humidity and light.

In addition to continuous improvement performance data available to management, future updates of the platform are set to incorporate leading AI technology that would identify the weaknesses and strengths of a user and plan the best route of learning to reach their goals.
Other activities included in the new TIS will include the hands-on ability to take voltage, current and resistance readings to identify problems with sensors, transmitters, wiring and output components.
Although this is the first Simutech Multimedia module to be released in 3D, the company will be building all six of their existing modules on the 3D platform.
